Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas
April 7, 200
8

Be one of the first to experience the recent stem-to-stern renovation of Monarch of the Seas.  Departing from L.A. year-round, this remarkable 2,744-guest cruise ship sets sail for the ultimate Baja cruise vacation.  In addition to the spectacular on-shore excitement, you'll enjoy Monarch's state-of-the-art features, like the new, oversized spa and fitness center, specialty Asian-fusion cuisine at Jade, a make-your-own pizzeria, and, of course, Royal Caribbean's signature rock-climbing wall.

Just south of the U.S. border lies a vibrant culture, world-class beaches, lush green rain forests, and vividly painted architecture that will dazzle your eyes. Whether your idea of adventure is exploring a colonial city or discovering the joys of a siesta on a white-sand beach, a Mexican cruise vacation is perfect for you.

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
San Diego is California's "first city," with roots dating back to 1796. San Diego's beautiful harbor is a lovely place to stroll and explore. Historic Seaport Village, along the Embarcadero, is filled with fascinating shops and galleries. But if you wish to explore further, San Diego offers a world of excitement.

CATALINA ISLAND, CALIFORNIA
Catalina Island, located off the southern coast of California, is the home of the Mediterranean-style town of Avalon, with its small-town charm and circular Moorish-style casino (now used as a concert venue) on the harbor. The population of 2,500 swells to nearly 20,000 in season, yet three-quarters of the island remains undeveloped. The picturesque island is a popular setting for movies. In fact, a herd of buffalo abandoned years ago by a film crew still roams the interior sections of this island.

ENSENADA, MEXICO
South of the border, alongside mountains, desert and sea, Ensenada offers a warm and wonderful introduction to Mexico. The oldest community on the Baja Peninsula, it was first visited by Spanish missionaries in the 17th century. Today it's a thriving seaport. Ensenada's breezy climate invites exploration, shopping for colorful handicrafts, dining on delectable seafood, viewing the wonderful Gold Coast, and sipping cervezas in lively cantinas.
