• Where can I go to see my bookings?
Travel commissions and booking can be viewed through the Travel Portal. You can access the Travel Portal by entering www.ytbtravel.com/youruserid. Once the page comes up, click on ‘Login.’ Enter your user ID and password. When the Travel Portal page appears, select ‘My Account’ and then ‘Pending Bookings’ to view your latest commissions. The Travel Portal can also be accessed from your rep site by entering www.ytb.com/youruserid. Once the page appears, click on ‘Login’ and enter your User ID and password. When the Back Office appears, click on the link under ‘My YTB’ on the left hand side that says ‘Travel Portal’ to be redirected to your Travel Portal. Or, you can click HERE.
• Where can I view my commission history and pending commissions?
Log into your travel portal and click on ‘My Account.’ To view travel bookings that commissions are still pending for, click on ‘Pending Bookings.’ To view your history of travel commission checks, click on ‘Commissions’ and then select ‘My Commission History.’ To view the commission that will be paid to you in the current month, click on ‘My Check.’
• There is a check showing in my commission history that is less than $10.00, why haven’t I received it?
Travel Commission checks are only processed if the amount of the check is at least $10.00. If the amount is not $10.00, that commission will remain pending or “previously held” until more commission is earned to total $10.00 or more. Once your combined commission amount reaches more than $10.00, a check for the full amount will be sent to you on the next check issue date (around the 25th of each month).
• There is a check showing in my commission history that is more than $10.00, Why have I have not received this check?
If it has been three weeks or more since the check was issued, please submit a support ticket from your Back Office for Commissions to verify that the check was sent. If the check was sent and you would like the stop payment processed before the three week period, there is a $20.00 fee. Please verify that the address we have on file is correct to ensure the check is delivered.
• I see that there is a check number listed in the Travel Portal but this number does not match the check number I received. Why not?
The system automatically assigns a check/reference number to every dollar amount posted in each Travel Portal. This is not the actual check number on the physical check you receive. The number is for recording purposes only.
• I made a booking directly with a vendor, why isn’t the booking showing in my travel portal?
Any time a booking is made directly with a vendor you will need to enter a Commission Claim Form for the booking. Commission Claim Forms need to be entered as soon as possible after the booking is made to ensure commission is applied properly. All Commission Claim Forms need to be submitted online from your Travel Portal. As soon as the form is completed the booking should then show in your Travel Portal under ‘My Pending Bookings.’
• Where is the Commission Claim Form located?
Once you are logged in to your Travel Portal, the Commission Claim Form is located in ‘My Account’ and then select ‘Commissions.’ It can also be found under ‘RTA Tools’ and then selecting ‘Forms.’ This will take you step by step through entering the information for your booking. You can also click HERE.
• I tried submitting my Commission Claim Form, but it would not go through. I entered everything correctly, why won’t it go through?
Make sure that you have entered something in the comments field. This can be anything from the number of rooms/cabins booked to simply N/A, but you must enter something in this field. Also, make sure that you have not entered a dollar sign or a comma in the total cost of booking field. The only valid characters for this field are numbers and a decimal point.
• I submitted my Commission Claim Form, but the information for the booking changed, how can I update it?
When you need information changed on your Commission Claim Form, please enter a support ticket from your back office with the changes and the Commission Department will update it in their system. A change in the original price entered will not prevent you from receiving the correct amount of commission. The booking number, however, MUST be correct.
• I entered a booking incorrectly and I need it removed from the travel portal, how can I delete it?
Please submit a support ticket with the booking number and the Commission Department will remove it for you.
• I made a booking last month, how come I have not received commission?
Vendors can take up to 90 days after travel has been completed to pay commission. Please verify that the booking is showing correctly in your Travel Portal under ‘My Pending Bookings’ to ensure that when commission is received it will be applied properly. Once the commission is received from the vendor it will be applied to your booking and you will then be able to view the commission amount in your travel portal.
• I made a booking on my website and traveled more than three months ago, when will I receive commission?
If you have a booking you believe to be commissionable and it has been more than 90 days since the travel was completed, please submit a support ticket from your Back Office with the all the booking’s information. Please make sure to include the booking number for the booking in question. You can also fill out a Lost Commission Research Form located in your Travel Portal under RTA Tools > Forms or HERE and fax it to 618-659-9826.
• I made a flight booking through Travelocity on my website and also another booking for a hotel not done through Travelocity, how come the commission is showing for one booking and not the other?
Travelocity bookings will show the commission amount immediately when the booking shows up in the Travel Portal. This is due to their cancellation policy. For all other bookings the commission amount will not show until the commission is received from the vendor.
• My booking shows ‘pending’ in the amount column, does this mean I am not receiving commission for this booking?
All bookings showing in the Travel Portal will show ‘Pending’ in the amount column until the commission is received from the vendor. Once the commission is received it will be applied to your booking and will show the dollar amount of commission instead of ‘Pending.’
• Why doesn’t the booking showing in my travel portal give me all the information for the booking such as the passenger names?
The amount of information we receive regarding a booking depends on who the booking was made through. If certain information is not showing for a particular booking, it is because this information was not or cannot be provided to us.
• I received my check in a company name instead of my personal name, I do not have a company bank account so I cannot cash it, what should I do?
Please mail the check back to our office with a note stating that you would like the check reissued in your personal name and all future checks until otherwise notified. Once we receive the check we will issue a new check with the correct name on it. We will also delete the company name out of your personal information in your account so that future checks will process correctly.
• Why is there a $1.50 adjustment on my check amount?
For each check that is processed there is a $1.50 deducted for processing fees.
• We are supposed to receive 60% of the cost of our booking, why is my commission amount so low?
All vendors pay different commission rates for bookings. The commission they send to us is the net commissionable amount. The net commissionable amount is what you receive 60% of. For example, Travelocity is currently paying a $5 flat rate per domestic air ticket booked. They will send us $5 and then you will receive 60% of the $5, or $3.
• I had a pending Travelocity booking that showed commission was received, how come I didn’t receive that commission on my check this month?
All Travelocity commissions are paid the month after the booking is made. If the booking is made in May, that commission will pay to you around June 25th. Under ‘View Pending Bookings,’ all of the bookings may show that commission is received, but this does not necessarily mean they will all pay to you that month. Using the ‘View Current Check’ link you can see exactly which ones will pay to you in the current month.
• I had a pending cruise booking that showed commission was received, how come I didn’t receive that commission on my check this month?
Cruise lines generally pay commission to us before the cruise has taken place. However, the cruise can often times still be cancelled, in which case the cruise line would contact us to return the commission for that booking. As a result, we will hold the commission received from the cruise line until the month after the cruise takes place. For example, for a cruise taking place in May, you will generally receive the commission on June’s commission check.
• I want to cancel my YTB account; will I still receive my outstanding travel commission?
For any commission checks that were less than $10.00 and haven’t been paid or any commissions that are set to pay out the current month please send a support ticket to accounting to issue a check for those combined commission amounts. If there are pending bookings showing and the commission is received for those bookings within 30 days of your cancellation we will also do a check request for those bookings. Any commission received later than 30 days after cancellation will be forfeited.
• I booked a group cruise and the cruise line told me I would be getting bonus commission. Do I still get 60% of this?
You will receive 100% of bonus commission paid by a cruise line.
• I figured out what my commission should be, but the amount that my Travel Portal says I will be receiving is different, why?
Make sure that you paid the full gross cost for your booking. If you did not pay the full gross cost (i.e. you only paid the net cost) you will not receive your commission or your documents.
